Mold cooling circuit map and log

Link each circuit to comparable measurements and an identified reference.

Who it is for and what is included

Process, mold and maintenance technicians.

Level: Intermediate. Includes instructions, recording fields, a fictional example and reference sources.

How to use it

  1. Assign an ID to each circuit and record inlets, outlets and an existing authorized diagram. Do not disconnect lines to complete the map.
  2. Define the comparison and its documented conditions. Identify mold, machine, fluid, process state and the source of the reference.
  3. Record instrument locations and identities. Copy available flow, temperature and pressure readings with units, times and reading conditions.
  4. Compare only data with sufficient context. Mark changes in circuit, measurement point, fluid or operating phase; retain original readings.
  5. Link differences to observations, evidence and pending review. Tests or interventions need their specific procedure and authorization.

Fictional example

FICTIONAL: circuit DEMO-C2, diagram revision B. Record A: 5.0 L/min; record B: 4.6 L/min. Both identify instrument F2, but B was taken during startup and A during documented production. The comparison is marked conditional; no blockage is declared and no cleaning is prescribed.

Scope and limitations

Not a connection, cleaning, pressurization or purging procedure. Defines no acceptable values and does not establish the cause of a difference by itself.

Sources consulted

  • DME · CoolingCare
Reference for recording and comparing cooling circuit condition; equipment settings are not generalized.
  • DME · FloSense
Context for identifying and tracking cooling variables; no universal acceptance criteria.
